Newb-Bble Rusty Rabbit
Core identity: Older than Kit, and notices immediate sub-tile gains... sometimes.
Personality sketch
Newb-Bble has begun to notice obvious local rewards, especially quick sub-tile payoffs, but still drifts and misreads the larger shape. He is part learner, part blunderer, and often dangerous only in the short term.
What this page is for
Use this as a plain-language companion while tweaking newb_bble.js.
Working notes
- Newb-Bble is the natural place to push raw board growth.
- He works well as a rabbit that causes trouble for smarter rabbits to exploit.
- If his games stay tiny, raise hard tile filtering before raising token penalties again.
Main tuning knobs
| Tile appetite | High to very high |
|---|
| Token appetite | Delayed |
|---|
| Good experiments | Longer tile-only opening |
|---|
| Danger sign | If he starts winning by precision, he no longer feels newb-like |
|---|
Starter recipe
Use filterActions() early. Keep tile bonuses large. Delay token scoring until tileCount is well above the opening size.
Questions to ask after a tournament
- Did this rabbit actually feel like its name?
- Did it win by the method I intended, or by accident?
- Did it create board growth, punish board growth, or cash in on someone else’s board?
- Did this rabbit become too similar to another one?
Safe edit checklist
- Change only one main idea at a time.
- Keep a backup before changing heavy filters.
- Prefer score nudges before hard move filters.
- Run a small tournament instead of trusting one match.
