<item>1 clove garlic, minced</item>
<item>3 tablespoons butter</item>
<item>3 tablespoons olive oil</item>
<item>1 lb. ground beef</item>
<item>1/2 lb. pork sausage</item>
<item>2 lb. can tomatoes</item>
<item>#2 1/2 can whole kernel corn</item>
<item>2 teaspoons salt</item>
<item>2 teaspoons chili powder</item>
<item>20–24 pitted ripe olives</item>
<item>1 cup corn meal</item>
<item>1 cup milk</item>
<item>2 eggs, well beaten</item>
<item>1 1/2 cups grated American cheese</item>
</ingredients>
<directions>
<step>Heat oven to 350°F.</step>
<step>Sauté onion and garlic in butter and oil until yellow. Add ground beef and sausage; cook until brown.</step>
<step>Simmer tomatoes, corn, salt and chili powder in saucepan 20 minutes. Add to meat mixture; pour into an 11 1/2 × 7 1/2 × 2 inch pan.</step>
<step>Press olives into mixture.</step>
<step>Mix corn meal, milk and eggs; spread over filling. Sprinkle with grated cheese.</step>
<step>Bake 1 hour.</step>
