School of Culinary Arts Recipe Book
Welcome! The Trillium University Cookbook is a public, actively maintained community cookbook and recipe archive at FJD1.com. It combines a growing collection of family, contributed, and collected recipes — including preserved scans of handwritten family recipe cards — with a working demonstration of structured web data. The recipes themselves are XML files; a DTD defines their structure, XSLT presents them as readable web pages, CSS supplies the appearance, and PHP builds the index automatically.

Contribute to the Cookbook
Friends and invited contributors can add recipes directly to the cookbook, including an optional recipe photograph. There are two ways to get contributor access: enter the friend password for immediate access, or request approval by email. Once authorized, a contributor may add as many recipes as desired during a 12-hour session.
The Recipe Writer also keeps the educational XML tools, so a contributor can inspect, copy, or download the XML in addition to saving the recipe directly on the server.
The code behind the cookbook
The teaching side of the original project remains intact. The code page explains how the XML recipe, DTD and XSLT stylesheet work together and shows the actual current files, rather than an old pasted copy that can become outdated.
