Cook and stir over low heat, until mixture coats a metal spoon. </step> <step>Cook 2 minutes more.</step> <step>Stir in vanilla. Pour into 1-quart shallow baking dish. Chill. </step> <step>Sift brown sugar over top. Set in shallow pan of ice cubes and water.
