![]() Illustration 1 This circuit, (a preamplification and switching module for use in fast foods ordering stations) was designed to prevent 2 employees from talking at the same time, and provide noise free audio by preamplifying the signal close to the microphone. It also provided a visual signal to the operator through the use of a bi-color LED. Both digital and audio portions were contained in these modules on the same board. All design and manufacturing were done in-house. TTL integrated circuits were used along with a single 5534 op. amp. and descrete componets. ![]() Illustration 2 This version of the same part as above, contains two seperate circuits each functioning as the single module above except implemented with CMOS integrated circuitry. To overcome the functional problem of CMOS logic not being available with an open collector, a transistor was added to create an 'or' circuit from module to module. ![]() Illustration 3 Valve system for b.c. used in SCUBA diving. We designed this working around exterior dimensions required by our customer. This included the design and machining of more than a dozen injection molds, as well as the injection molding and assembly. ![]() Illustration 4 Mold for injection molding. This is typical of my injection molds. This one in particular molds four each of two mating parts out of glass reinforced PBT (polybutyleneterephthalate). Parts, sprue, and runner are all automatically ejected from the mold on opening. ![]() Illustration 5 24-Fret Classic Electric Guitar This instrument was designed with the professional classic guitarist in mind. It is intended to eliminate the feedback associated with microphones normally used to amplify a classic guitar. Piezo-electric pickups are contained within the saddle, and each string is individually adjustable in its volume from the front of the guitar while playing. Provision is made for 6-channel output (MIDI) or stereo output. The neck is designed wide and long true to the professionals' needs. |
