	<ingredients>
		<item>3 slightly beaten eggs</item>
		<item>2 c. light cream</item>
		<item>1/4 c. sugar</item>
		<item>1/4 tsp. salt</item>
		<item>1/2 tsp. vanilla</item>
		<item>1/4 c. packed brown sugar </item>
	</ingredients>
	<directions>
		<step>In heavy saucepan, combine eggs, cream, sugar and salt. Cook and stir over
low heat, until mixture coats a metal spoon. </step>
		<step>Cook 2 minutes more.</step>
		<step>Stir in
vanilla. Pour into 1-quart shallow baking dish. Chill. </step>
		<step>Sift brown sugar
over top. Set in shallow pan of ice cubes and water. Place on middle rack
and broil at 400 degrees 4 to 5 minutes or until a bubbly crust forms.
